Saturday's 0-0 vs Forest

Man of the Match

Who was your man of the match for the game?

Monk tips Bodde to Vital Swansea's MOTM with 6 votes to 5.Monk for me he had a quality game. If not Monk then Bodde was my second choice. Tate will find it hard to get back in this team!
josho

Bodde for me was outstanding. (Pratley did well as his sidekick with the less noticeable things like grafting and covering. I have high hopes of this centremid partnership.)

Painter was my pick of the defenders, and Rangel looks a good acquisition. I'd say Roberto will soon have some serious thinking to do about the 3 - Rangel/Tate /Amankwaah.

Rangel for me. Was an excellent wing back performance. As for pratley....well he had a decent game yesterday, but still not convinced of his ability.

The Midfield

'We still lacked numbers in midfield today, especially in the second half when Forest were attacking us.' -KevinE

thought the central midfield pairing of bodde and pratley worked well, but Britton and Robbo didnt seem so effective. Robbo became predictable cutting in from the left after about 20 mins even though he did get a few very good shots in and he was very tired by the end
geth

I like the look of the Bodde /Pratley combination which had to, and did, work hard to cover the centre, both overshadowing leon who had a quieter game than usual
francis4356

the midfield was solid today. pratley was his usual self, giving the ball away constantly. i am starting to turn against pratley and i cant see how martinez can keep on picking him. as for robinson, to predictable, and we desperately need anderson to get back and play on the wing. anderson will cut inside and run to the by-line and get a cross in, so i think that variation on the wing could be handy.

Tuesday's Carling Cup 2-0 win

Jason Scotland

He is going to get 20 + goals a season he is such a class act.
sbrjack

Yep he is class. Very strong as well when handling opposition defence. Look good in holland and has started very well
StanVanDamn

he looked sharp when he came on tonight, he looks quick, and along with duffy should score plenty of goals this season. if a defence plays high upfield this year against us, they will get stuffed.
Burdett

The Defence

Preferred Defence

What is your preferred defence now that Monk is back?

Seeing as they kept a clean sheet today and looked (relatively) comfortable i'd stick with the same defence for walsall at least. Didnt think Lawrence played that badly, made some good challenges , just he panicked when clearing the ball a few times
Murton_Jack

should stick with today's defence - overall it was solid and both Painter and Rangel seemed to want to attack at every opportunity. My only concern about today's defence was Lawrence - now and again he would needlessly give the ball away.

Oldham 2 Swansea 1

Alan Tate

I'm not keen on the idea of Tate playing in the centre. He lacks discipline and positioning to play there well. Today he conceded the penalty but I'm not sure what happened about their second goal.
KevinE

you can't blame tate for the last goal though. even if you organise the defence, a goal like that can be scored. it is tate's job to watch in case someone makes a late run, it is Rangel's job, in this case, to watch for someone coming in on the back post. Rangel have realised sooner that he was the man who should be dealing with davies. sorry, but i put the blame on rangel, who looks good going forward, but can't defend.
Burdett

As to the last goal, its 1-1 in the 90th. Someone else should have stood over the ball and talked to the ref instead of Tate, slowing it down while enough bodies came back to protect what we had.
