Fan Interview: Jack Hammers

Fan Interview: Jack Hammers
Swansea Vital Member Jack Hammers answers Site Editor KevinE`s questions in our latest fan interview.

1. Roberto Martinez decided to release Tom Williams and Andy Oakes last month, did you agree with this decision?

"I didn't agree with Roberto's decision to release Tom Williams and Andy Oakes as i feel that Tom has got a lot more to offer and we need somebody who is quick and aggressive down the left flank and Tom did that for us! Also I think that Andy was a much better Goalkeeper than Willy is and if anybody left it should have been Willy."

2 Out of the out of contract players offered new deals - Kristian O'Leary, Steven Watt, Izzy Iriekpen, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Garry Monk, who would you like to see stay and go?

"Steve Watt has already signed but i would have liked to see him sign anyway. Chelsea wouldn't have held onto him if he didn't have something to offer! I would also like to see Kris O'Leary stay as well as Bayo as I think they are both good players. However, I don't really want to see Monk and Izzy sign as although they have done good jobs in the past they are not good enough any more! I think Monk struggles at this level and Izzy's social life almost ruined his career earlier in the season. He is like a lower league Joey Barton. "

3. Austin has signed a new contract at the club; do you think we should have offered him a new deal?

"I'm glad Austin resigned as i think that he is able to perform at this level but i don't think that he is able to do it consistently! This is probably why Roberto only offered him a year with a possible year extension is he performs well. "

4 Izzy Iriekpen has moaned a few times to the press regarding the contract situation, what were your thoughts on this? Should he just keep quiet or does he have the right to speak out? Would you like him to stay?

"I'm not sure what to think about Izzy. He moaned that he wanted a transfer request earlier in the season, then he started playing again and wanted to be taken off the transfer list, then he got arrested and now he is refusing a new contract! I think people just look at him and think there he goes again he's always moaning about something! Although he has a right to talk about his own situation i don't think he is doing himself any favours by hitting out at the club! I think he has done all he can do for Swansea and he should move on".

5. Martinez's first signings were Jason Scotland and Matty Collins, what are your views on their arrivals?

"Martinez's first signings look good. We`ve got a proven Goal scorer at both international and domestic levels and a young midfielder who was brought up through the ranks of a premiership club. They both look like good signings. "

6. With just one keeper at the club, should Martinez be looking for a new goalkeeper or one as backup for Willy Gueret?

"I think that Willy like Izzy has done all he can for this club. He should move on and we should have kept Oakes and then brought in another keeper as back up for him."'BR>
7. The 'Dutch Roy Keane' (Ferrie Bodde) is our recent signing for 50,000, what are your views on his arrival? Do we need another central midfielder?

"If Kris O'Leary goes then we need another good midfielder who is able to battle for the ball in the centre of the park and who is able to create things for others in the team. He seems a good signing despite his previous disciplinary record, especially for the money that we paid for him! "

8. Kristian O'Leary has been offered a 3 year-deal by Cheltenham, would like to see him go or is his time up at Swansea?

"I personally would like to see Kris stay a Swansea player as he has been here all of his life and he always gives 100% for the team. However, with the arrival of Bodde then maybe he will find it hard to get into the team and the security of a three year deal and the fact that he will be a first team player may tempt him away from us! "

9. How confident are you that Roberto Martinez can finally deliver us promotion to the Championship next season? What are your predictions for next season?

"I am confident that Roberto is the right man for the job. I think that we wont be champions but there is a good chance that we could be second. I dont think that if we fail to get an automatic spot there is much chance of us failing to get into the play-offs this year. Swansea to go up this season!!"
