Ferrie Bodde was born in Delft in the Province of South Holland.Bodde attracted the eye of local club ADO Den Haag and subsequently moved through ADO's jeugdelftallen (youth team ranks.) Bodde's hard work paid off in April 2001 when he made his first team debut vs Oosterenkstadion based outfit FC Zwolle. Bodde made 4 appearances for ADO Den Haag in his debut season.

Bodde had slowly established himself as a fixture in the ADO Den Haag side making a further 156 competitive appearances for the Zuiderpark outfit scoring 10 goals for the club. Bodde who is a natural midfielder has a powerful shot and is very attack minded. He also had a stint in defense against NAC Breda where he struggled and had problems in the air.

Bodde still had a year to run on his contract with ADO Den Hagg . After ADO Den Haag's relegation from the Eredivisie last season Bodde decided to look for a fresh challenge.

He was much sought after with interest coming from Swiss Axpo League Champions FC Zürich, newly promoted VVV Venlo. Aberdeen were also interested in Bodde's services but could not raise the transfer fee.

Bodde has also international experience with the Dutch under 23 team with the likes of Arjen Robben and has experience of playing against Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. welkom Ferrie

What do the fans think of his signing?

'He sounds like the player we need to control the game for us in the middle.Something which we have'nt had for some time.'
aspaulhill

'When i first heard about him possibly becoming a Swans player I was slightly unsure because I saw his record and he seemed to have trouble controlling himself on the pitch. However, I agree we need somebody with a strong personality in the middle of the park who is not afraid to get stuck in!'

Martinez has said that he is a good passer of the ball. So playing in the centre of midfield he could become our play maker.

how many central midfielders do we need though? Even if O'Leary doesn't sign we'll have plenty. We still need a left sided midfielder so that's another one we should sign hopefully. Defenders and Goalkeepers we need now please Roberto.
