Swansea City Finally Settle Sigurdsson Sale To Everton
Swansea City have finally settled an agreement with Everton as Gylfi Sigurdsson has signed a five-year deal at Goodison Park, for a fee thought to be worth £40m, with an extra £5m in addons.

It's dragged on for weeks, and while the new Swansea owners demanded £50m, they have compromised and settled for £40m, but with a large quantity of that money being paid immediately with the rest in instalments.

There have many updates in the media as to why the move has taken so long to go through, but the Swans have held out for the right reasons, and despite not getting their full valuation of the attacking midfielder, they`ll at least receive a large proportion of the club-record fee up front.

Further squad strengthening has depended on Sigurdsson`s expected move to Everton - and we finally have the funds to try and push through two or three signings within the next two weeks or so.

West Brom`s Nader Chadli appears to be our top priority to come in as the Icelandic`s replacement, who could be available for £20m - half of what we sold Gylfi for. With the remaining £20m, Wilfried Bony is also high on the wanted list, and another - cheaper 7-figured player could also come in, as Joe Allen`s return looks highly unlikely as Stoke insist he`s not for sale.

As many fans - whether Swansea fans or others - instantly react with predictions of relegation this season - as they expect us to fall away without Sigurdsson, they should be reminded that we`ve recovered from plenty of big player losses in the past. Wilfried Bony being the most recent, plus Michu and Andre Ayew. There can be no excuses of struggling due to Sigurdsson`s exit, we have two weeks now to replace him with £40m in the bank.

Yes Sigurdsson's a big loss for us but it could be a big gamble for him too. He only ever looked comfortable and played his best football when he was with the Swans.
