Swansea City Considering Wilfried Bony Return

Swansea City Considering Wilfried Bony Return
Swansea City are reportedly considering pushing through a move to bring Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony back to the club.

The BBC are reporting that we're 'weighing up a move', while Wales Online believe the deal has progressed a lot further, suggesting that they already have permission to speak to the striker.

A move to bring back Wilfried Bony would suggest that Gylfi Sigurdsson is also closer to completing a move to Everton. Mainly because Bony's return would be costly, he's currently on £130,000 wages at Manchester City and joined the club for a fee of around £25m.

It also makes you wonder where Fernando Llorente's future lies, with Chelsea showing an interest again if the tabloids are to be believed. Could we keep both Llorente and Bony happy at the club, and afford the pair? If Sigurdsson does leave, which is highly likely, then either of those two strikers would desperately need a quality attacking midfielder coming in to feed them with goalscoring chances.

Bony's return would be highly welcomed by the Swansea fans, he was a huge fans' favourite during his two-year spell - scoring 26 goals in 54 appearances. His goalscoring form earned him a big money move to Manchester City, but he struggled to make the grade at the former Premier League champions, and was sent on loan to Stoke City last season. He couldn't earn a regular start there either, which raises concerns over whether he could return to his previous form if he did make a comeback.

With the Swans now back from their pre-season tour in the United States, it's expected (and hoped) that they will now push through some much needed moves - firstly Sigurdsson's future which is delaying us making some much needed signings.

I don't think Bony is the same player that he was in his first stint here. He contracted Malaria in Africa and doesn't look the part now. Could be a big costly mistake.
