Llorente Fit But Olsson Set To Sit Out at Bournemouth

Llorente Fit But Olsson Set To Sit Out at Bournemouth
Swansea City have a mixed bag of injury news, boosted with the confirmation that striker Llorente is fit, but disappointed that Martin Olsson has yet to return to training this week.

Clement gave an update on the injury situation in Thursday's press conference following a tough game at Hull that saw the head coach forced into making two changes due to injury, while Olsson had to play on after using up all three substitutions.

Kyle Naughton should return in place of Angel Rangel, who's out for the rest of the season with a fractured metatarsal, and Stephen Kingsley looks set to fill in on the opposite defence of the defence in Olsson's absence.

Fortunately though, striker Fernando Llorente is fit and available for another tough trip at AFC Bournemouth. The Spaniard and our top scorer was also forced off at Hull, just before half time with a dead leg.

We didn't recover from the setbacks, and struggled to create chances and adjust without our main targetman up top. Jordan Ayew couldn't offer an outlet up front, and despite preferring to play as a frontman, he didn't look like one last weekend - but it's very early days yet.

Clement said:

'We picked up a few injuries at Hull,'

'Angel has had surgery on a broken bone in his foot. He tried to carry on thinking he had rolled his ankle, but the scan showed a crack in the bone. The surgery is to quicken the healing process and he will be out 8-12 weeks.

'Olsson has not returned to training, he is unlikely to be fit for this weekend. We are disappointed to have lost Martin.'

'Llorente is okay, he is back training with the group as is Naughton (hamstring) who we lost against Burnley.'

Clement also confirmed that Kingsley will start at Bournemouth, and he sounded confident that he would come in and do a good job:

'Stephen Kingsley will play at left-back at Bournemouth, he is a good young player who has been involved with his national team and he has experience at this level and is a very good replacement,'

'We are more than confident in Stephen's ability. When we brought Martin in, it was always the case that one of the left backs would leave.

'We are very happy Stephen stayed here.'
