Swansea City Complete Taylor - Ayew Swap With Aston Villa

Swansea City Complete Taylor - Ayew Swap With Aston Villa
Swansea City have completed the sale of Neil Taylor to Aston Villa, with Jordan Ayew coming in the other way.

Swansea City will also reportedly pay the Championship side £5m for 25 year-old, who netted 7 League goals in 30 games in the top flight last season.

With Martin Olsson coming in from Norwich City earlier this month, it was looking like Taylor could become third choice left back behind Stephen Kingsley, so a move to Aston Villa seemed like the sensible choice all round.

Jordan Ayew, brother of former Swan Andre, comes in and gives us a different option up front - signing a three-and-a-half year deal, as Clement says:

"I`m sure his brother has given him the inside track on the club,"

"He is a very good acquisition. He`s versatile and dynamic to attack the lines and get in behind defences.

"He will certainly give us something different to what we`ve got."

After almost 7 years at Swansea, Taylor moves on and Clement added:

'Neil has been a great servant for this club. I had a really nice discussion with him about his position,'

'He said he wanted to take this opportunity and I supported that. It's the right time for him to have a new challenge and we wish him all the best.

'We brought Martin Olsson in from Norwich so we ended up with three left-backs with Neil and Stephen [Kingsley] as well. I only really need two.'

In other moves, Marvin Emnes has re-joined Blackburn Rovers on loan, while winger Modou Barrow has joined up with Garry Monk at Leeds United, also on loan.
