Swansea City Complete Signing of Left Back Olsson

Swansea City Complete Signing of Left Back Olsson
Swansea City have completed their second signing of the January transfer window, as Norwich City left back Martin Olsson has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal at the Liberty Stadium.

The transfer fee is believed to be around £4m, which is also what they're expected to pay for Spurs midfielder Tom Carroll, who should be confirmed as a Swansea City player later today.

The Swans were first linked with Olsson two years ago but reports back then suggested that they weren't prepared to meet Norwich's asking price for the Swedish international.

Swansea head coach Paul Clement has previous links with Martin and his twin-brother Marcus. Clement worked with Martin Olsson briefly at Blackburn Rovers when he worked there for four months in the 2011/12 season, while his brother Marcus played under Clement at Derby County - but only very briefly as he was sacked shortly after he signed for the club.

The full back positions have been in desperate need of strengthening, even more so now with Neil Taylor's fractured cheekbone - which will keep him out of action for another 2-3 weeks.

'A poor man's Danny Rose'

Here's what Vital Norwich had to say when we asked them on twitter about our new signing:

Marvin Emnes has also returned from his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers, where he made 20 appearances and scored 3 goals.

In other transfer news, Wayne Routledge has been heavily linked with a £3m move to Birmingham City, with some news sources saying that the bid has been accepted.
