Guidolin Says He Won't Risk Borja at Leicester
The new record signing suffered an injury in training and wasn't expected to return until the Chelsea - after the first international break of the season coming up after this weekend.
Hopefully a two week break will be plenty of time for the former Atletico Madrid striker to regain full fitness and will be available for the next home game against Chelsea.
With Fernando Llorente being used as first choice striker so far, Guidolin has decided not to include young forward Oliver McBurnie on the bench as an alternative striker option. The Italian may re-consider that this weekend after netting a brace during Tuesday's 3-1 League Cup win at Peterborough United. He also helped set up Fulton's headed goal.
'Borja is not available for Leicester. We don't want to risk him,'
Guidolin also spoke about McBurnie's cup performance on Tuesday, admitting that he's not sure yet if he's ready for the Premier League, but surely he's worth a place on the bench if we have no other strikers available?
'He is improving. He's been working with us for the first time in the last two months, but he is a clever player,'
'I'm happy for him. He's a good young player.
'Against Peterborough we played some young players. Jay Fulton as well did well. This is important for our club.
'I don't know if Ollie is ready for the Premier League, but he is improving which is important.
'I'm satisfied with the first half performance against Peterborough. We played some good football.
'Nothing is easy in this job. This game now looks easy, but we fought hard against good opponents. I'm satisfied.'
'This game was important for a lot of reasons. To go forward in this competition and for me to learn more about some players.'
