New Record Signing Borja Reacts To Swansea Move

New Record Signing Borja Reacts To Swansea Move
Swansea City's new record signing Borja Baston gave his thoughts on his move to South Wales.

The 23 year-old striker arrives from Atletico Madrid for a £15.5m fee, which beats the former £12m record paid for Wilfried Bony.

Borja says he wants to settle at Swansea, and spend 'several years' at his new club, after a number of loan spells in recent seasons.

"There is pressure, but it is good pressure,"

"I want to repay the transfer fee paid for me with good performances and results.

"It`s difficult to set a target of goals, but my mantra is take it goal by goal. Hopefully I can score a lot of goals.

"It is the most important decision of my career. I want to settle and spend several years here.

"I am very happy to be here. I am eager to contribute to the success of the team."

"There has been a lot of success with Spanish players here. I hope to do the same for Swansea,"

"I played with Jordi in the youth levels with Spain. He is a very good player and it will be great to be in the same team as him again.

"It is great for me to have Spanish players in the team, but I want to learn English as quickly as possible to integrate into the team and get to know my team-mates."

"I would love to play this Saturday, but I will have to speak to the manager to see if he wants me to be involved."

Excellent article, and I have to say that I'm really excited and looking forward to the coming season. As always at the beginning of a season the pundits are saying we will go down, but they as? always don't know what they are taking about! I believe a great season is ahead for us and with this present team looking really strong now a top 6 finish is probable!

Good to see some optimism on here! I'm quietly confident of a decent season, there's some strong teams now and 10th will look better than 10th did a few seasons ago. But a few other clubs have experienced new managers, sold players too so we're not the only club who's lost some of their best players. Southampton and Watford being 2. Hull no manager, and Sunderland and West Brom should surely finish below us.

It's a refreshing new start to a season. it will be interesting how Guidolin manages two strikers and whether he plays two or one. I think it was good business selling Ashley Williams, he didn't have many seasons left in him in my opinion. Anyway we need a good start , Burnley away and Hull home is not such a daunting proposition and we need points on the board right away i think.

I'm not too bothered about Williams going. Didn't rate him quite as much as others, but we did miss him when he didn't play, we didn't look quite as solid without him, although we coped fine at the end of the season. I'm hoping van der Hoorn is better than expected. Ayew has left, but we've got 2 good strikers so we should be ok up top. I'm expecting a mid-table half decent season, but we won't be pulling up trees, as we need another 2-3 players for that.
