Swansea City Set To Break Transfer Record For Borja
Earlier on Saturday, manager Francesco Guidolin said that a deal to sign the 23 year-old was 'imminent', and BBC Sport understands that the player will cost around £15m. Meanwhile, the Swans look set to receive at least £20m for Andre Ayew, who now has the green light to join West Ham following the expected arrival of Borja.
The Spaniard is expected in Swansea as early as Sunday to complete a medical and sign a contract, just two days after Llorente completed his move from Sevilla.
It'll be quite a few days for Swansea City, who were struggling for forward options as speculation linking Ayew with a move has escalated. However, it now looks like Guidolin has a healthy selection headache to think about ahead of Saturday's season opener, as he ponders over the Spanish attacking pair.
The 23 year-old arrives on the back of two excellent loan spells at Zaragoza and Eibar in the last two seasons. 18 goals in 36 games last year, after netting 22 for Zaragoza in 2014/15.
The pair have the potential to form a superb strike partnership, as the younger Borja would compliment the older and more experienced Llorente brilliantly. But, Guidolin has focused on a 4-2-3-1 formation for the majority of pre-season friendlies, so it would be difficult for him to involve both players in the starting line-up.
The negativity and worry over a lack of signings amongst the fans now seems like a thing of the past, as the squad looks strong enough to deliver in the Premier League.
