and then there were none - Gomis Loan Move is Complete
The last striker has left Swansea City...as Bafetimbi Gomis has finally completed a season-long loan move to French side Marseille.

We're not going to count youngster Oliver McBurnie, as he's not an established senior player that has any Premier League experience whatsoever, but he might have to be next season if the board don't get a move on.

Distribution of wages between the two clubs had delayed the move, but even after an agreement had been made days ago, it's still taken a while for the loan to be completed.

But after Paloschi and Eder left the Summer, Swansea's only remaining senior striker has also left through the Liberty Stadium exit. Clearly, he wasn't going to be involved in the first team plans this season - it's still head-scratching as to why Garry Monk always started him last season.

With rumours building and building regarding Ayew's short term future at the club, the pressure couldn't be any bigger for the board to bring in one striker at the very very least.

But they remind me of those people that spend 5 hours clothes shopping with £500 in their pocket, they see plenty of items they like, but in the end they come home with nothing.

Alan Curtis has even come out and said now that the club have to sign a striker to boost morale - even that of the players. They can't be all too confident about the season ahead if we're - so far - relying on a player playing up front who would rather play in his preferred winger role - Ayew - plus a young striker McBurnie with very little experience.

Curtis said:

'I suppose we are all a little impatient, I guess even more so as we didn't bring in Joe Allen,'

'I think there is a lot of frustration, with the supporters but also with the players and maybe the board themselves.

'We all know there is a need for us to bring people in now.'

'The squad is getting stronger, but at this time of year there is an impatience to bolster the squad with a big-name signing and we are no different.

'I think the players like to see [other] players coming through the dressing room.

'Hopefully we can strengthen.'

The likes of Ayew and Sigurdsson proved last season that without them we'd have surely got relegated. There's no way we can afford to lose either of them this Summer with the squad the way it is. But what confidence must they have in this team if it's lacking frontmen?

The board need to act fast. They've spent pennies compared to last Summer - less than £7m, with the increased TV money - there's got to be significant funds available to replace the likes of Gomis, Eder and Paloschi.

Guidolin appears to be frustrated at a lack of incoming players, and the lack of balance between ins and outs. We were starting to look like a decent side at the end of last season, and the board are missing an opportunity, as there's potential with the team under the experienced Italian manager. Not only that, but chairman Huw Jenkins spoke about how they must learn lessons from last season, their pre-season recruitment was poor, and they almost paid the price. So far, it doesn't look like they've learnt their lessons, and we ideally needed new strikers in for the U.S Tour so they could adjust and get to know the team and how we're playing. Lets just hope it's a case of better late than never...
