Jenkins: 'Three Players Is The Minimum We Need'
Swansea City Huw Jenkins has reassured fans that the club will 'bring players in' within the 'next few weeks' - as the wait continues to see some further signings.

Leroy Fer looks to be a good bargain buy from QPR at less than £4m, but Ajax defender Mike van der Hoorn is still an unknown quantity at this stage, and we're not sure if he's capable of even competing with Jordi Amat to break into the first team along with the likes of Ashley Williams and Federico Fernandez.

Swansea City fans are now desperately hoping that the club match Stoke City's bid for Joe Allen - which was accepted by Liverpool. Reports suggest that Stoke could confirm his signing early this week, but it's been confirmed that the Welsh international midfielder was in Swansea today - for what reason though - who knows.

Huw Jenkins says that the squad needs one or two new strikers adding to it - plus another player. The Swans have left it a bit late to be adding 3 or more players to the squad, what with a U.S Tour and another friendly completed so far this pre-season. But it'll be 'better late than never', as there's now no excuse not to push through some key signings following the confirmation of the new American shareholders - who have this week gained a 68% majority ownership in the club. They too have reiterated the need to strengthen the squad.

'We've talked a lot about football and we've got a few options in mind,' he said.

'I think it was always going to be a case of moving players out before we moved players in, especially with the Euros finishing late and then so called bigger clubs moving players around.

'We'll try and feed off some of them, get some deals that suit us, get them in at the right place and try and work those things as we always do.

'In the next few weeks we will bring some players in.

'It's pretty obvious we need one, maybe two strikers and another player. Three is probably the minimum.

'We also have to make sure we keep the squad we've got.

'If that changes we will look at things again, but that's where we are. We have to make sure we get two forwards in, maybe another one and see where we go.'

Guidolin says he's also hopeful to see some new signings over the next few weeks:

'I don't know if we are close to signing a striker. This is a question for the chairman and the new owners.

'I speak with the chairman every week about what we need so it's a question for him.

'Now is the moment to think about the team. The takeover is finished and the new owners are with us.

'I'm happy and I hope to see something in the next few weeks.'
