Swansea City Linked With Moroccan Left Back
The 24 year-old Moroccan can play at either left back or as a left winger and has made 73 appearances for Serie A outfit Palermo - who finished 16th in the Italian top flight last season. He also has 14 caps for his country.
Fellow Serie A side Sampdoria are also interested according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
Last season he made 30 League appearances, and played roughly the same amount of games in defence as he did in midfield (both on the left side). Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin seems to be interested in attacking full backs and have also been linked with free agent Gregory van der Wiel.
Sampdoria are believed to have shown more intent so far in their desire to sign Lazaar compared to the Swans, but they could soon join the race to sign the versatile left sided player.
With current left back Stephen Kingsley showing promising signs towards the end of last season and a replacement needed for Franck Tabanou it seems, could Neil Taylor's regular first team place come under threat? Few supporters were happy with his performances last year, citing his lack of attacking ability as his main limitation in the side. Right back could be another position that is strengthened as neither Rangel nor Naughton offer what Guidolin is really looking for in a full back - pace, stamina and the ability to do both the defence and offence work efficiently.
