Pre-Match Talking Points: Leicester City (a)

Pre-Match Talking Points: Leicester City (a)
Ahead of Saturday's trip to Leicester City, we take a look at some of the key talking points.

One of the main things you - the fans - may be talking about before the game is Garry Monk's starting line-up.

It's been pretty predictable in recent games, with manager Garry Monk naming his usual 4-4-2 diamond - that has proved to be very much a worthwhile switch from his previous tried and tested 4-2-3-1.

It has taken quite some time for some fans to get used to and like the new system. One of the main reasons for that is due to the lack of true width and pace in the side, as the 4-4-2 diamond relies on full backs for wide attacking support, with a lot more emphasis on the centre of midfield and getting balls through for Bafetimbi Gomis and Wayne Routledge.

Monk's starting line-up at Leicester City though will see two changes at the very least. Left back Neil Taylor serves a 2-match ban and Bafetimbi Gomis is out for four weeks with a hamstring injury.

Who should come in for the pair? Does Monk need to change his formation to get around the problem? Or can he make like for like changes with the players he has available?

Monk has ruled out a loan recall for Jazz Richards - which we expected so Angel Rangel remains the only available senior full back available.

Young teenager Raheem Hanley has been mentioned as possibly having a surprise call-up from the under-21s squad.

The other alternative is switching Rangel to left back and bringing in Jordi Amat at right back.

Nelson Oliviera seems the obvious choice to replace the injured Gomis, but Marvin Emnes will be keen and hopeful to get a rare starting opportunity.

As you can see in our injuries article here, Leicester City are the only squad in the Premier League without any injuries.

The other big talking point ahead of the game is whether or not Swansea City can break their existing record of 47 points in a Premier League season.

They have now equalled it, and manager Garry Monk has called for his side to make history this weekend.

Can Swansea City make history, gain at least a point, and put a dent in Leicester's survival hopes?

We'd like to know your thoughts on the game, have we missed anything that you'd like to discuss?
