Spurs Close To Agreeing Ben Davies Deal

Spurs are apparently close to agreeing a deal to sign Swansea City left back Ben Davies.

Davies has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane for a number of weeks now and it finally looks like the move will happen this weekend.

Liverpool also entered the running to sign the young left back, but they've recently distanced themselves from the Welshman, with Spurs outbidding the Reds and refusing to give up their attempts of securing the defender. Davies preferred to be reunited with boss Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, but the first team guarantee from Spurs makes them favourites to land the 21 year-old.

It looks like Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has dug his heels in as much as possible, but it finally looks like he'll have to let Ben Davies go after a bid was agreed.

Earlier this week, reports that Ben Davies was being withdrawn from a friendly match in the USA to complete a move to Spurs were false - having featured in the 1-1 draw against Mexican side Chivas.

Former loanee and Spurs midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson was also linked with a return to the club - with a straight swap a possibility. There are still conflicting reports on the Icelandic, some say he's close to joining Crystal Palace, while others believe he could still join the Swans with Spurs helping them to meet his wage demands.
