Spurs Will Have To Settle For Davies,Bony To Stay?

Wales Online believe that Spurs could still secure Ben Davies for a fee around 10m, but they'll have to accept defeat in trying to sign star striker Wilfried Bony.

Swansea City aren't prepared to listen to offers for Bony, but are more willing to consider selling young left back Ben Davies - if the price is right. Wales Online believe that the Swans could agree a fee - allowing Spurs to offer the player personal terms.

Negotiations and talks have been on-going for a few weeks now, with the Swans demanding a higher offer from Spurs for the Welsh defender.

Former loanee Gylfi Sigurdsson has also been mentioned as being involved in the deal, coming the other way which would mean Spurs would pay considerably less.

However, this is looking unlikely as rumours suggest that the Icelandic midfielder doesn't seem interested in a return to South Wales.

That would mean Ben Davies moving to White Hart Lane in a 10m-plus move, but on the positive side, Swansea City look like they've put off one interested club from signing their prize asset Wilfried Bony.

Garry Monk says he's very happy with how his squad is shaping up so far, but there's still likely more ins and outs to come this Summer:

"The squad is shaping up well. It`s a difficult time of the year in terms of the job with comings and goings, and with the World Cup a lot are waiting to see who goes where and it can slow things up.

"Hopefully we`ll have one or two more bits and pieces of business that can be done, but as in terms of building the squad, I am very happy."

So far, Monk has brought in free agents Fabianski and Gomis, plus left back Kingsley and Marvin Emnes.

Hopefully Monk will also look to bring in 1 or 2 defensive players at least - particularly to add full back support - especially if Ben Davies does leave.

But to add any more players, surely some would have to leave. The futures of Spaniards Michu, Pozuelo and Canas are still far from certain. Michu has been linked with moves to Napoli and Atletico Madrid, while Pozuelo and Canas appear to be out of favour.

Ashley Williams' future also needs to be decided as contract talks are still on-going. If he does leave, with Sunderland considering an improved offer, a new centre back would have to become Monk's new priority.

Marseille winger Dimitri Payet has also been strongly linked with a move, but recent reports suggest that he has turned us down.

Luc Castaignos is also waiting for news from the Swans, after the club had a fee agreed for the FC Twente striker. Monk may feel that he no longer needs him after Gomis and Emnes' arrivals - plus the news (hopefully) that Bony is staying.
