Taylor Set For 4-6 Weeks Out Injured
The Welsh international picked up a haematoma (severe bruising and swelling) on his thigh during the 5-1 win against Petrolul in the Europa League last Thursday.
The news comes as a blow to the Welshman and to the team as Laudrup will be without his back up left fullback for at least a month.
Taylor missed the majority of last season with a broken ankle and recovered over the Summer to be involved in the pre-season friendlies.
He has looked comfortable when playing in the Europa League and allowed Ben Davies to rest for the League games at the weekend.
Swansea City head physio Kate Rees told the Official Site:
"Neil picked up a slight dead leg in the Europa League game last Thursday but he was able to train on Friday and Saturday.
"However, the haematoma re-bled on Sunday and he was admitted to hospital as a precaution.
"While there is no serious muscle or tissue damage, he suffered severe swelling and bruising to his thigh which will take between four to six weeks to clear up."
Winger Nathan Dyer will also miss the second leg against Petrolul in Romania on Thursday with a hamstring injury. He was also sidelined for Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Tottenham.
