Vorm Determined For Quick Return

Number 1 goalkeeper Michel Vorm says he's determined to recover quickly from a groin injury as he's 'desperate' to play again.

The Dutchman suffered the problem trying to keep out Carlos Tevez's winner in the 1-0 at Manchester City at the end of October.

Vorm's injury came as a big blow to the Swans as his impressive performances this season have helped us to pick up some vital points. Gerhard Tremmel however has come in and done a solid job in his first spell in the starting line-up since he joined the club at the beginning of last season.

Vorm is likely to return at around Christmas time, he told Sky Sports:

'My rehabilitation is going well. I couldn't walk normally last week, but now I'm ok and the bruise is slowly going,'

'I've been doing a lot of work in the gym to keep my strength up and the blood flowing.

'I'm determined to heal quickly and strongly. I'm desperate to come back, but I know I can't rush it. I'd rather be one week later than a week too early and it goes again.

'I had been having a slight problem with my groin for a few weeks before the Man City game. It was only a small problem which I was having treatment for. It was just an itchy, nagging feeling.

'Then I dived for Tevez's shot, which was some strike right in the corner, and I could feel my groin go straight away. There was a lot of pain and I knew it was not good. It turned out to be a bad one, but it still could have been worse.''
