Chico & Bartley Closer To Returns

Chico & Bartley Closer To Returns
Swansea City defensive duo Chico Flores and Kyle Bartley are getting close to a return to action.

Chico Flores is hoping to be fit for Saturday's trip to Southampton after missing the Chelsea game with a dead leg, while Kyle Bartley could return to full training next week after being out since September with a thigh injury.

Manager Michael Laudrup told the Evening Post:

"I don`t know yet whether Chico will make it, but I think from my experience that his injury would normally keep you out for seven days,"

"Hopefully he will train on Wednesday or Thursday.

"We can never know for sure, but I hope he has a good chance to make it."

Talking about Bartley, Laudrup added:

"With the weather and the pitch at this time of year, injuries can happen,"

"But we can be satisfied with that side of things right now. We don`t have three or four muscle injuries so that is pleasing, and within a week or ten days I think Kyle will be back with the squad."

Despite losing first team defender Chico Flores for the Chelsea game last Saturday, Laudrup was pleased with the performance of his replacement Garry Monk:

"Garry did well in a very, very difficult game last Saturday,"

"And what we have seen in the last week is that when the team know how you play, you can make some changes without a problem.

"We changed the two full-backs at Liverpool and they did a great job.
