Another Defensive Injury Blow For Swansea

Swansea City have suffered another defensive injury blow, as Kyle Bartley will be sidelined for three months after suffering a thigh injury in training.

The young defender, who joined the Swans in August for a 1m a fee was hoping to play first team football soon following Chico's three-match ban for a red card against Sunderland.

However, the disappointing news for Bartley and manager Michael Laudrup is that he'll be without the defender for the next three months or so. It comes as an even bigger blow following the news that Neil Taylor will miss the rest of the season with a broken ankle.

Alan Tate now looks certain for a starting place at Aston Villa on Saturday, with Ben Davies and new signing Dwight Tiendalli competing for the left back spot.
