Rangel Could Be Back For Everton Trip

Swansea City could be boosted with the return of Angel Rangel for Wednesday's trip to Everton.

The Spanish right back suffered an ankle ligament injury at the end of November during the 0-0 draw at home to Aston Villa.

He was expected to be out for a month but Rangel could return slightly earlier than expected - this week as the Swans travel North to Goodison Park.

Rodgers said:

'Angel is back in the group. He has recovered really, really well. He has worked very hard with the medical and rehabilitation team in the last week or so,'

'His natural fitness will bring him straight into the squad because he is a wonderfully fit player.

'That is a great boost for us because he has done really well so far.

'If we go back to last season, whenever he hadn't trained for a number of weeks he only had a few days of training and I threw him straight into the Preston game at home. He was absolutely magnificent.

'He was very rarely out of the team after that. He is a natural athlete, so I would have no qualms in putting him in (against Everton) if I have to.

'We will assess that over the next 48 hours.'

Rodgers also says that Dyer could be a possible doubt for this week's game due to a foot injury:

'Our only doubt might be Nathan Dyer, who has picked up a little problem with his ligament in his foot,'

'It's not serious but we'll see how he is for Wednesday.'
