Roberto Martinez

Swansea City AFC.co.uk Comment:

Roberto Martinez is one of the most influencial midfielders in the last few years to sign for Swansea. Signed by Brian Flynn on a free transfer from Walsall, he made an instant impression to the Swansea fans and played a huge part in saving the Swans from relegation in 2003

He was a hugely influencial figure during the relegation battle and added experience to the midfield. His composure, skill and passing ability are his main strengths.

Roberto was injured during a home game against Boston the year after and this made a huge difference to his performances when he returned.

Martinez hasn't really fitted in with Jackett's style of play and he was left out of the first team on many occasions and after playing no part during the Play-offs, it became obvious he was going to be released.

He has now been linked with moves to Walsall and Swindon.
