Bodde Out For 8 More Weeks After Operation

Swansea City midfielder Ferrie Bodde will be sidelined for another eight weeks at least following another operation on his troublesome knee.

The Dutchman has failed twice to return from the knee ligament injury he suffered almost three years ago, and ever since the concerns over his career have increased with major question marks as to whether or not he'll play again.

Bodde had another operation, this time a more minor one - a slight shaving of his meniscus which is believed to be causing him more pain.

Manager Brendan Rodgers recently said that the player is still not comfortable or confident with the strength of his knee.

The club's head physio Kate Rees said:

'The operation went well and he is currently recovering at home,''

Hopefully this will be the final operation Bodde will need to get him back on track to finally making his big return to first team football.

You have to wonder though what sort of state he is in mentally, having been sidelined for so long and battling hard through two very tough rehabilitation programs in the hope that he could make a full recovery.

Can he? It remains to be seen, but if he does, it would be like a brand new multi-million pound signing for Swansea City.
