'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kevin Austin

Swansea City AFC.co.uk Comment:

Kevin Austin Joined the Swans a couple of weeks before pre season training began in June 2004.

He was offered a contract by Bristol Rovers new Boss Ian Atkins but chose instead to join the Swans on a two year deal after his contract ended at Bristol.

Many Bristol fans were disappointed and angry to see him go which is a keen sign for Swans fans. He can operate at Left Back but he looks much more comfortable in the centre as he uses his strength and power well. His lack of pace however means he struggles at times at left back.

A clause in his contract meant he was automatically offered a new 1 year contract extension.

He'll probably be well down the pecking order next year with Iriekpen, Monk and Watt all ahead of him.
