Serran Sidelined With Ankle Injury

Albert Serran is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an ankle injury in training.

Paulo Sousa's defensive options worsen now and the Swans boss is still keen on signing Millwall's Zak Whitbread it seems.

The Millwall centre back, who can also play at left back, is now on the transfer list as his contract expires next Summer, but he could still command a fee of around 700,000.

Former Swansea City boss Kenny Jackett said:

'He is a very good player, so if he does end up staying at Millwall that would be terrific,'

'But at the same time he has stated his wish to leave and that looks inevitable.'

Serran is going to be out for some time it seems and we need to get a new quality defender in ASAP, Whitbread likes like a good player and we need to start spending to strengthen the squad
