Kristian O'Leary is a strong, physical player who before Jackett arrived, he played in defence but Jackett has moved him into midfield to give it a more physical approach.

Some supporters aren't particularly great fans of O'Leary however well he plays and he started the 2004/05 season off in great form with his battling performances in the centre of midfield.

His weaknesses however have to be his lack of speed and his poor passing ability. However, he is a hard tackler in midfield but he doesn't have the attributes to become a playmaker. He won the player of the year award in the 2004/05 season and formed a good midfield partnership with Roberto Martinez.

With players like Robinson and Owain Tudur-Jones performing well, O'Leary found first team opportunities limited during the 05/06 season while injuries and 2 red cards also affected his season.

O Leary was sent out on a successful loan last season to Cheltenham Town fc. He did have the opportunity to sign for The Robins out right with the Waddon Road outfit offering him a 3 year deal.

O Leary decided against this and signed a 1 year extension with the club last year.

He is currently out of contract and there's been no news as yet that he's signed a new deal with the club.
