Ferrie Bodde was born in Delft in the Province of South Holland. Bodde attracted the eye of local club ADO Den Haag and subsequently moved through ADO's jeugdelftallen (youth team ranks.) Bodde's hard work paid off in April 2001 when he made his first team debut vs Oosterenkstadion based outfit FC Zwolle. Bodde made 4 appearances for ADO Den Haag in his debut season.

Bodde had slowly established himself as a fixture in the ADO Den Haag side making a further 156 competitive appearances for the Zuiderpark outfit scoring 10 goals for the club.

Bodde still had a year to run on his contract with ADO Den Hagg. After ADO Den Haag's relegation from the Eredivisie last season Bodde decided to look for a fresh challenge.

He was much sought after with interest coming from Swiss Axpo League Champions FC Zürich, newly promoted VVV Venlo. Aberdeen were also interested in Bodde's services but could not raise the transfer fee.

Bodde has also international experience with the Dutch under 23 team with the likes of Arjen Robben and has experience of playing against Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. Welkom Ferrie!

Bodde has proved to be one of the bargains of the decade and is one of our best players. He played a vital role in our League One Championship winning season in 2007/2008.

He has a wide range of skills, particularly long-range passing and as a reputation of also being a hard-tackler.

As well as that, he likes to have shots at goal from long distance, and got on the scoresheet regularly at the start of the 2008/09 season.

His season ended early though in November after suffering a knee ligament injury.

After two failed attempts at returning from the knee injury he suffered in 2009, Bodde is finally hoping that this will be the year he can get back into regular first team football, and what better way to do it than in the Premier League.

Bodde's return for 2011/12 would be like a new multi-million pound signing for Swansea City if he can return to his previous form.
