Stephen Dobbie is a striker who joined Swansea City in May 2009 after his goalscoring form in the Scottish First Division caught the eye of then manager Roberto Martinez.
The 26 year-old was out of contract at Queen of the South and was able to join the Swans on a free, and potentially he could prove to a bargain, especially if he can continue his goalscoring form in the Championship.
He started his career with SPL giants Rangers but he struggled to break into the first team there and joined Hibernian in 2003. Again he struggled to earn a regular place in the starting line-up, scoring 2 goals in just 35 appearances.
After a loan spell with the club, Dobbie then joined St Johnstone permanently in 2005 but yet again he was unable to get a run in the side. He was loaned to Dumbarton where finally found form, scoring 10 goals in 17 games.
His spell at Dumbarton saw him earn a move to his previous club Queen of the South where he scored 47 goals in 83 games, proving to be a big favourite amongst the fans.
Swansea City fans have already seen a Scottish Division 1 striker join the club and been a success (Jason Scotland), and we'll be hoping that trend continues with the arrival of another in Stephen Dobbie.
After joining the Swans, Dobbie said how excited he was with move and that he can't wait to get going in the 09/10 season.
