Tottenham Hotspur , Motherwell, Barnet and Southend United
Born In Edmonton in North East London on the 5th October 1978 Gower started his footballing career as a trainee with Tottenham Hotspur but after failing to break into the first team at White Hart Lane moved to SPL side Motherwell on loan in 1999. He did however win the Worthington Cup with the club in 1999 before joining the Fir Park outfit.
Making 9 appearances for the Steelmen and scoring one goal Gower returned to the premier league club only to be sold to league two outfit Barnet for £32,500.
Spending three years at Underhill Park the midfielder moved on to join Southend United for a fee of £25.000 in 2003. He has enjoyed relative success and has earned a league one champions medal with the shrimpers and was a shining light in the Essex clubs relegation season scoring 10 goals from midfield. Last season has marked the end of a five year stint at Roots Hall and despite a lucrative offer from the League one club to sign on for a further two seasons Gower turned the offer down in favour of a move to Swansea City on a free transfer in June 2008.
