Havant & Waterlooville 4 - Swansea City 2

West Leigh Park

16th January 2007

Attendance:

Havant & W 4-2 Swansea

Swansea City miss out on the chance to visit Anfield in the FA Cup after an embarrassing exit in the FA Cup.

Non-League side Havant & Waterlooville forced a replay at the Liberty Stadium a fortnight ago as Rocky Baptiste scored a late equaliser to take us back to West Leigh Park tonight.

Havant & Waterlooville scored 3 consecutive goals in the first half to take a healthy and surprising 3-0 lead. The Swans tried to get back into the game and got the deficit down to one following goals by Bauza and Scotland. Leon Britton also missed a penalty when we were 3-1 down.

As Martinez's side tried to get the equaliser during the second half, we were punished for our poor finishing as Jordan put the game beyond doubt with Havant's 4th to send the non-league side into dreamland as they look forward to a trip to Liverpool's Anfield Stadium.

The Swans dominated for long periods, created plenty of chances, missed sitters and had shots blocked off the line but despite of that we struggled to find the net.

Hopefully tonight's embarrassing defeat won't affect our league progress as we face Port Vale at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Winning the league may be what we need to make up for this! :P

From listening to the radio, management needs to look at centre back signings. We have missed Bodde who will be available for Port Vale game.

Absolutely shocking, only promotion will make up for it. Dont care if we're 1st or 2nd as long as we go up.
