Swansea Secured their place in the Johnstone`s paint trophy southern section final after a win over Dean Wilkins injury hit Brighton side.

The league one leaders have booked a place against Mk Dons.

Roberto Martinez rang the changes from the side that started in the 1-1 draw against Havant and Waterlooville in the FA Cup 3rd round. In came Darryl Duffy, Andrea Orlandi ,Garry Monk, Dennis Lawrence and Angel Rangel to bolster the Swansea Side.

The home side went 1-0 up within 10 minutes when Angel Rangel`s cross was met by Darryl Duffy who headed home to score his 2nd goal of the season. Swansea continued to pile on the pressure as Marcos Painter put a cross into the danger area but the ball alluded Guillem Bauza who pushed his effort wide of Michel Kuipers goal

Brighton had a chance on 23 minutes when the Seagulls top scorer had a chance to push the visitors forward in the quest for an equaliser but his effort was cleared by the Swansea defence.

Duffy buoyed by the goal had another chance for the home side to go 2-0 up but saw his effort saved by Kuipers.

For all the chances Swansea had the league leaders went into the break 1-0 up.

Nicky Forster had a chance to level for the visitors but De Vries was equal to the shot. Wilkins were forced to make a change when Joel Lynch sustained an injury and was immediately replaced by Sam Rents. Roberto Martinez also made a change after bring on Thomas Butler on for Paul Anderson.

Swansea held on to book their place in the regional final.
