Bauza On Target Again

Guillem Bauza's goal wins it again for Swansea as we progress through to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern Section semi-final.

After scoring two to give us an FA Cup win on Saturday, he was on target again as he scored the only goal in last night's game at home to Yeovil.

Martinez made four more changes to his side as he welcomed back Pratley following a one match ban and Bodde was also on the bench after a hip injury. De Vries was back in goal and Allen started instead of O'Leary.

Yeovil started off the better side despite having to make an early change, as Marcus Stewart was replaced after just 6 minutes because of injury.

We got back into the game though as Orlandi went close from a free-kick and his cross was just missed by striker Darryl Duffy as he failed to make contact with the ball.

The Swans were struggling to get a foot-hold of the game and to create some decent chances in the first half. We had a few long range shots go off target but at the other end Tate was forced into making some goal-saving tackles to clear up poor defensive work from his colleagues.

After the half hour mark, we created a few more chances. Anderson was looking more lively but our crosses still weren't being met by Duffy at the far post. The Liverpool winger also went close with a fierce volley from 25 yards out.

Despite our average first half performance, we opened the scoring and got the only goal of the game with 4 minutes remaining until half time.

Anderson's corner was flicked on by Garry Monk, Tate's shot was deflected up into the air and Bauza nodded it home from a yard out.

The second half started scappy with neither side playing particularly well. Martinez made 2 changes in the first 15 minutes. Butler replaced Anderson and Bodde replaced Bauza.

The changes seemed to work well as the two subs combined as Butler cut inside after Bodde's pass and his shot was palmed away for a corner.

The Swans pushed for a second goal to kill off the game as Duffy forced the goalkeeper into making a great save with around 15 minutes remaining.

Yeovil put on the pressure on in the latter changes but De Vries was rarely forced into making any decent saves.

Martinez would have been happy to get through against tough opponents and to keep a clean sheet. It extends out unbeaten run to 10 games and with Carlisle, Leeds and Doncaster all losing, we really should fancy our chances of getting to the cup final at Wembley.

You must be favourites to win the competition now with only Gillingham and yourselves left in it from League One.
