Referee:

Swansea City scored 5 more goals in their Summer 2007 pre-season friendlies with a 5-1 win against Neath Athletic.

The game started with a good tempo and some industrious play on the right flank from Leon Britton who won Swansea the first corner of the night. We took the lead on 3 minutes when Kevin Austin rose above his marker and with a well placed header put the Swans ahead.

The Swans were using the flanks well and a Britton cross field pass found Andy Robinson in space on the right. The subsequent shot sailed way over the bar and out of the ground.

Neath had a chance in the first half with a mistake by Painter allowed a in swinging cross into the box which Gueret was equal to both in the initial shot and rebound efforts by Brian Showdrey and Andy Hill.

Swansea city surged forward in the search of goal number two. Trundle received a pass and was upended as the referee awarded Swansea a free kick in a central position. Lee Trundle stepped up and placed the free kick into the top left hand corner of the goal and secured a 2-0 lead for the Swans

The Second half started with Swansea city surging forward. Anderson and Bodde combined well. Darryl Duffy was marked throughly and was off balance but he coolly fired Swansea into a 3-0 lead.

On-loan Liverpool winger Paul Anderson added a 4th goal after a deflection off of a Neath player. Anderson was far the best player for Swansea city tonight.

The hosts scored a consolation goal following an error by Garry Monk.Andy Hamlett used his strength to get past Garry Monk and one on one with Dorus De Vries placed his shot in the bottom right hand corner to make it 4-1 to Swansea.

Duffy then added a 5th just before the final whistle firing in at close range.

Weve played two games and Anderson and Duffy have both got 3 goals to their names! Two games and weve scored 10 goals. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come allthough we will definately be playing better teams hopefully this will give the boys the confidence we need to win promotion this season!
