Millwall 2 - Swansea 0

The New Denn

31st March 2007

Attendance: 9,249

Millwall 2-0 Swansea City

Roberto Martinez suffered his first defeat as Swansea manager as his side lost 2-0 this afternoon away at Millwall.

Lee Trundle was available again after suspension but he was left on the bench as Martinez decided to stay with his 4-3-2-1 formation.

Alan Tate was sent off after just 21 minutes after two bad challenges which gave us a tough uphill battle at the new Denn.

10 minutes later and the hosts took the lead through Harris who was given the easy task of tapping the ball home from Poul Hubertz' cross.

Martinez made two changes at the start of the second half, Lee Trundle replaced Pawell Abbott and Richard Duffy came on for Ian Craney.

There still wasn't too much between the sides and we were still capable of getting a valuable point until Izzy Iriekpen conceded a penalty with 20 minutes remaining. Harris got his second as the Swans trail Blackpool by 4 points.

Players should now be selected as to who can hold their nerve under pressure and not commit to rash challenges. Tate has ruled himself out because of indiscipline.
