Swansea 2 - Chesterfield 0

Liberty Stadium

16th March 2007

Swansea 2-0 Chesterfield

Swansea City move back into the play-offs tonight after a 2-0 home against strugglers Chesterfield.

Andy Robinson assisted one and scored the other to extend Martinez's unbeaten run to 4 games.

It took a while to get on the scoresheet but we scored 2 in a space of three minutes to get another vital win plus a moral-boosting clean sheet, our third in a row.

Martinez decided to push Craney up front alongside Abbott as Trundle is suspended and Akinfenwa is out injured.

Coincidence or not, Robinson has recently returned to form since Martinez has arrived, scoring at his old club Tranmere last week and scoring again tonight. He scored from the spot to give us the lead before assisting the second as Izzy headed in his cross.

Not the best of games but a good result, which is what we need. Chesterfiled came for a draw and we had to work hard to break them down. Having spoke to a few of the injured and suspended players before the match you could tell confidence is high at the moment. Trundle, Monk, Tudur Jones, O'Leary and Watt all made simular match predictions 2-0 or 3-0.
