Perfect Start For Martinez

New boss Roberto Martinez got off to a perfect start tonight with a 2-1 away win at Rotherham.

He made two changes to the side that lost at Yeovil, surprisingly Gueret returned in goal, unluckily for Oakes and Craney started in place of the injured Kevin Austin.

Despite having half his squad sidelined with injuries, Martinez's side took a 2-goal lead after an hour's play with goals from striker Lee Trundle and Pawel Abbott.

Abbott scored his first goal for the Swans on 20 minutes, heading in Amankwaah's cross.

15 minutes after the restart, and we doubled our lead. Amankwaah again was the assist as Trundle collected his pass before firing the ball home.

The hosts provided a brief scare for us as Woods popped up with a late goal but it was too little too late as the Swans go home happy with all three points.

Rotherham: Montgomery, Streete (Worrell 71), Hurst, Fleming, Sharps, Partridge, Diagouraga, Woods, Brogan, Facey (O'Grady 68), Henderson.

Subs Not Used: Liversidge, Newsham, Cochrane.

Booked: Brogan, Fleming, Hurst.

Goals: Woods 90.

Swansea: Gueret, Amankwaah, Tate, Lawrence, Painter, O'Leary, Britton, Robinson (Butler 76), Craney, Trundle (Williams 88), Abbott.

Subs Not Used: Oakes, Jones, Chambers.

Booked: Amankwaah.

Goals: Abbott 20, Trundle 61.

Ref: C Oliver (Northumberland).

Wow! Maybe I was wrong about Galactico! And even better - LT10 and Pav on the scoresheet! Congrats to the team and the new manager. Thumbs up.

Good win but can he keep it going??

Good win especially with all our injuries. Good that Abbot got off the mark with his and our first goal. Waiting for Creany to get his first and that will then lead to many. Their goal seemed to go through our keeper's hands ? What did Oakes do wrong at Yeovil ?

i think its what he said about galactico in the paper the other day, "should have kept your mouth shut andy" it was a good result in game we dominated (for once) bu lets not foret where they are in the table. lets hope this sparks a run and galactico can keep there heads down and keep them motovated.

New Manager Syndrome anyone, most teams get great results when a new manager takes over at any club, they put in extra effort for the new man, if they put the same effort in for the old manager he would still be in a job.

defo col mate but we will have to see wheater it is just that or weather martinez can find that conssistancy and determanation jackett never semed to find. if he dosent and that was just a one off then were in big trouble. but im conferdent and im actualy looking forward to the rest of the season now wich is weird.
