Goals from Lee Trundle and Tom Butler in the last minute of the game gave Swans victory at Vale Park.
The match looked like heading for 0-0 draw but the striker popped up with the goods to give us all 3 points to keep us 6th in League One.
Kenny Jackett made three changes to the side that beat Newport County last week. Andy Oakes replaced the missing Geuret in goal while Iriekpen was dropped to the bench after getting arrested last Saturday with Austin replacing him.
New loan signing Marcos Painter made his debut at left back while O'Leary started in midfield ahead of Shaun MacDonald.
Swansea City started off the better side. Rory Fallon should have scored in the first half but he completely missed the ball from inside the 6-yard area.
The hosts also created a few half chances but Oakes was untroubled for most of the game. Sodje should have done better after heading way over the bar from a cross from the left.
Robinson also had a chance when he managed to get into a good position in the 6-yard area but a Port Vale defender made an excellent last-minute tackle to deny Robinson from getting a shot at goal.
Andy Oakes made his first save of the game from a long-range volley and conceded a corner.
Leon Britton was lively down the right hand side. He did well early in the second half to get away from his marker, Robinson struck a shot following his cross but it flew way over the bar.
At the other end, Whittaker and Sodje had shots at goal but both attempts were off target. Constantine especially should have done better after shooting over from inside the area.
The game looked to be heading for a 0-0 draw until thelast minute when Trundle put us in front. Butler was fouled in a 50-50 challenge, he won the ball which fell to Trundle and his low drive from 12 yards beat the keeper.
Trundle repaid the compliment to Butler as he assisted our second. The striker said he was time-wasting with the ball on the right wing, but he went on a run after beating a man, he squared the ball to Butler who finished from 6 yards out.
