Exeter 1 - Swansea 3

St James Park

29/07/06

Attendance: 1,200 approx

FT: Exeter 1-3 Swansea

Leon Knight scored a brace to guide the Swans to their second victory of their pre-season campaign.

New signings Amankwaah and Butler were handed starting places and so too was Andy Robinson. Knight gave us a 2 goal lead at the break before former Swan Chris Todd got a goal back for the Grecians in the 2nd half.

Iriekpen secured the win late on with Swansea's third.

More to come soon.

SWans need 2 be able to keep clean sheets i know all these games r against lower league teams but if lower league teams r scoreing past us how many r the bigger teams going to score if we r shakey at the back

It defending crosses we need to sort out, otherwise we would have kept clean sheets.

Available in the back four for the first game will only be two (Monk & Austin) from last season's team. So with Amankwaah, Izzy, Watt & Williams, we will have a new back four that will take a few games to get to know each other and build the much needed confidence. Once this is achieved, then we should have clean sheets. Substitutes were introduced in the second half and Chris Todd scored before before they settled. Substitutes used in league games will be tactical/injuries rather than in these games to give someone a runout.
