Swansea City 3 Crystal Palace 1

Swansea City dented their play-off hopes this afternoon with a hugely disappointing 3-1 home defeat against Crystal Palace.

We struggled to play our usual free-flowing passing game while Palace battled well to make it difficult for us to cause a threat.

Roberto Martinez made just the one change to the side that beat Plymouth 1-0 on Tuesday. Mark Gower replaced Tom Butler on the left wing. Garry Monk still waits to make a return to the back four.

The Swansea boss watched us make some sloppy defensive mistakes to gift Palace 2 of their goals. Albert Serran's error gave Moses an easy chance, as he fired the ball in past de Vries to open the scoring for Neil Warnock's side.

Palace then doubled their lead not long later. A cross came in from the right following some poor defending from substitute Matty Collins. Stokes headed across goal from the back post and Fonte had the easy task of tapping in from a few yards out.

Gorka Pintado then came on to get things back to 2-1, and gave us hope of getting a point. We went looking to pile the pressure on and the visiting goalkeeper made a great save to deny Jason Scotland an equaliser.

Other than that we didn't really force the keeper into making many good saves. Palace were then gifted a third to wrap things up as Serran made another mistake in the dying minutes.

Match reaction, stats and photos to follow.

Worst game of the season for us, we just didn't perform nowhere near to how we can. defence was a total shambles and we lack firepower up front. we're not direct enough going forward on the attack.
