Attendance:
Swansea City reserves were handed a footballing lesson against a resolute and organised Bristol Rovers. In his second game back from injury Darren Way secured another full 90 minutes.
Swansea went behind on 28 minutes as Charlie Clough latched onto a loose ball in the box to fire coolly past David Knight.Chris Jones had the chance to level when he picked up a loose ball outside of the Rovers penalty box but saw his shot fire past Michael Green in the Rovers goal.Out of form Striker Darryl Duffy equalised in 43 minutes as he kept his nerve to fire past Green.
Rovers continued the pressure after the restart probing for the lead with Charlie Recce and Lewis Haladane spurring the charge. It was not until the 72nd minute Rovers got the ahead which they rightly deserved. Towering over his marker Charlie Clough headed home from 5 yards out past a stranded Knight. Chris Jones was lucky not to sustain serious damage as a rovers player pushed him into the advertising hoardings much to the protestations of the Swansea bench and support for a card to be shown by referee Dean John.
Swansea then were undone by another display of bad defending when Josh Klien Davies slotted home past Knight. Two goals deep into time added on from Matthew Groves and Charlie Recce consigned Swansea Reserves to a humbling 5-1 loss in front of Roberto Martinez and Huw Jenkins.
