Swansea City will play host to 15th placed Hartlepool United to the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday evening in a rearranged fixture.
The game was schedule to be played on the 20th October but was postponed due to the untimely death of Hartlepool midfielder Micheal Maidens who tragically died of his injuries sustained in a car crash in North Yorkshire.
Danny Wilson's task of securing points on Tuesday evening have been made even harder due to the poor clubs poor away form. It has seen the club only picking up 9 points on the road all season.
The Victoria Road based outfit suffered their 2nd defeat in 3 games at the hands of Gillingham on Saturday.
Roberto Martinez however will be boyed by the 1-0 away win over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.
Over the last few months Martinez and the Squad have come under fierce criticism for the clubs poor home form that has seen the club show what can be considered as relegation form. In comparison the Liberty Stadium based outfit have been in fine form away from home..
Martinez will be looking for a positive reaction from the Squad as he looks to silence those critics.
Roberto Martinez:
"We have to improve on our home record," said Martinez. "There are no two ways about it. We need to quickly put that right and become a stronger side at home."We need to make sure we have more of a fortress at home. The biggest disappointment this season has been at home. "The fans have been fantastic. Against Huddersfield they understood the situation and are showing real patience, which we are grateful for. "Hopefully we can reward them for their excellent support with three points tomorrow night." |
Roberto Martinez looks set to have a selection headache as he has a near fully fit squad to select from.
The Liverpool loanee is currently the clubs joint top goal scorer with 8 goals.
Anderson has proved to be one of the most consistent performers for the club so far this season.
The midfielder will be a handful for Hartlepool and should they not mark the winger tightly he will cause problems for the pool's defense.
Gary Liddle, Andy Monkhouse and Ben Clark are all out of the game with injury.
Godwin Antwi and Eddie Nolan are set to feature whilst Matty Robson has recovered from a calf strain.
The Hartlepool Striker was pivotal in securing the clubs swift return to league one last term.
The former Doncaster striker is the clubs top goal scorer with 9 goals.
