Swansea City return to League action tonight as they play host to 14th placed Huddersfield Town at the Liberty Stadium.
After the disappointing 1-1 draw against Gillingham on the 2nd November Roberto Martinez will be looking to secure the 3rd league Home win this season.
In recent weeks Huddersfield Town have seen a resurgence in fortunes as they are coming off 3 wins on the bounce.
In spite of this the Terriers have not won a league game on the road since September 1st against Millwall at the New Den.
Martinez will be looking to capitalise on that poor run of form away from home.
'I've seen Huddersfield three times and they are a very experienced and solid side. They've had the same group of players together for a while and in Andy Ritchie they have a very experienced manager.'They have picked up a number of good results over recent weeks and I think it will be a fantastic advert for League One football. 'It's vital we start the way we finished our last game against Gillingham. Saying that, we probably couldn't make a worst start because within 23 minutes we had fallen behind to a wonder goal and were down to 10 men!'' |
'Swansea have a massive squad. When they were at the Vetch Field, it was always a difficult place to go to as they had a very partisan crowd. Now the crowds they get at their new stadium are even bigger with them going so well.'It's a lovely Stadium with a very volatile and noisy atmosphere, making it a very difficult place to go to. So we will have to be at our optimum and show all our qualities; composure in certain situations as well as plenty of grit and determination. We will have to play good football too in order to get a favorable result. 'We'll be looking to frustrate that sizeable home support on Friday. In any game away from home, you look to keep it tight in the early stages so that you don't put yourself under pressure. And if we can get the crowd a little bit quiet and nervy, it may transmit to their players. |
Roberto Martinez looks to have a full squad available as Ferrie Bodde returns from a hip injury and Warren Feeney has served his 3-match suspension. Bodde came on as a substitute on Tuesday night in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and could return to the starting line-up.
Alan Tate has started our last two cup games in place of Lawrence and he'll be hoping he's done enough to keep his place alongside Garry Monk. Guillem Bauza is also hoping he's earned his first League start of the campaign after scoring 3 goals in the last 2 games. Scotland and Duffy are all available so he may still have to wait for his chance. Feeney isn't though as he's on international duty.
Players out though are Andy Robinson and Owain Tudur-Jones, Painter has recovered from his injury and is likely to start if fully fit. Britton is a doubt however as he's been suffering from tonsillitis and will be assessed before the game.
Bodde is a key player this season in midfield.Without him against Gillingham the Squad lacked something in the middle of the park. Bodde
presence in midfield gives the team shape and strength without him the Squad did not look As solid in that position .The restoration of the Pratley/Bodde midfield partnership hopefully can be restored.
Missing for the visitors are Jon Worthington, Robbie Williams, Chris Brandon, Simon Eastwood, Tom Clarke, Aaron Hardy and Lucas Akins. Manager Andy Ritchie will need to decide his strike partnership out of Cadamarteri, Booth and Beckett.
Beckett is the club's top scorer with 5 goals so far this season, 4 of them coming in the League.

I think it'll be a close encounter with us typically struggling in the first half. I think a second half goal will win us the game. Swansea to win 1-0.
