Gillingham vs. Swansea

Priestfield Stadium

Preview: Gills vs Swans

Our victory last Friday against fellow promotion rivals Brentford injected some much-needed confidence into the team ahead of our final push for promotion.

We'll be wanting to get some revenge over the Gills after we suffered an embarassing defeat to them not too along ago, while they celebrated their first away win of the season.

We have just 8 games left this season, 5 of those being on our travels so it's a must that we start that off with a win against Gillingham, who are hoping to avoid relegation.

Both teams play each other on the back of 3-2 wins over Brentford. Despite ending the game with 9 men, the Gills held on for all 3 points.

Vital Quotes:

Jepson, Gills boss:

''It is going to be a difficult task against Swansea. I watched them play Brentford last week and they have got plenty of quality players as they have invested heavily in the squad.

'Hopefully, Tuesday night's victory has given us some confidence to go on. My players were different class.''

Gillingham Team News:

Jepson will be without Sean Clohessy as the defender serves a 3-match suspension after getting sent off in midweek against Brentford.

Leon Johnson is also out suspended while midfielder Michael Flynn is touch and go as to whether he'll be able to make into the 16-man squad. He's been recovering from a shoulder injury and has had more treatment lately as he aims to make a return soon.

Loanee Justin Cochrane has missed the last 2 games due to sickness and Chris Hope and Paul Shields are both doubtful as they struggling to recover from injuries.

Scored a great goal against us at the Liberty Stadium not long ago and our defence will have to keep the striker quiet tomorrow.

Swansea Team News:

Kenny Jackett is happy to have a selection headache this week as he welcomes back 3 players from injury.

Tudur Jones has done his first full week of training after being sidelined for more than 3 months. After a lengthy spell out of action, Jackett is unlikely to feature him in the squad tomorrow, although he could feature on the bench.

Darren Way is also back and apparantly he played in the reserves' 2-2 draw against Swindon in midweek.

Kevin Austin is also back from injury and adds another option to defence although Lowe and Monk are almost certain to pair up in the centre of defence again.

Tom Williams should be back after missing the Brentford game as his wife gave birth to their child and he could face his former club.
