Swansea City will be fully confident of securing all three points against Queens Park Rangers tomorrow evening after coming off the back of three excellent performances against Preston , Wolves and Ipswich on Saturday.
Adapting well to the rigors of life in the Championship Roberto Martinez's side have earned a new wave of admires after winning last seasons leauge one title at a canter. The Swans have rarely looked phased at the occasion of gracing one of the most followed leagues in the world and should Martinez work his magic once more against a Queens Park Ranger side struggling to find consistency this season a win could catapult the Swans into a play off place.
Qpr under the guidance of former Crystal Palace boss Ian Dowie did get back to winning ways on the weekend with a 2-1 win over a Nottingham Forest side in turmoil.
Goals from Columbian Angelo Balanta and young Hungarian midfielder Akos Buzsaky wrapped up all three points for the Loftus Road side much to the relief and frustration of the 'R's' assistant manager Tim Flowers ' I can't understand the anxiety at this place. We were tenth going in to the match and now we're sixth. If someone misplaces a pass by an inch or something suddenly you hear the fans boo. It's madness but that's football and we'll have to cope with it.'
Last year QPR became the richest club in football thanks to the investment of controversial Indian businessman Lakshmi Mittal. Only to be outdone in the last few months as the Abu Dhabi United Group snapped up Manchester City.
With a club determined to recapture their Premier league status this season Dowie's side will provide Swansea with another tough test but Martinez's self proclaimed inexperienced side will certainly not be overawed by the visitors.
Swansea Captain Garry Monk:
"A lot has been made of the money that QPR have, but it's about what happens on the pitch that matters. We don't worry about the opposition. The gaffer always tells us before games to get ourselves right, and if we do that then we will give every team in this league a game.'
More pre match reaction to come.....
Roberto Martinez could be without Spaniard Andrea Orlandi after the winger sustained a muscle injury before the game at Ipswich on Saturday.
Thomas Butler is rated as 50-50 to feature against QPR.
The Dutch Connection:
The vastly influential midfeilder has seen his stock rise over the last 10 games after excellent performances that has seen the Dutchman become the clubs joint top goal scorer with 5 goals this season. Bodde's ability to switch the play and battle hard in the center of the park will be vital to Swansea's chances on tomorrow evening.
QPR team news to come.....
Loftus Road's hot shot:
Signed from Derby County back in 2006 Blackstock has a good goal scoring record and could provide defenders Garry Monk and Ashley Williams with a few problems. So far this season the 6ft 1 striker has scored 6 goals.
