Transfer window officially opens on 1/7 for PL,but apparently nothing stopping clubs signing players in advance and registering them on that date. Not much news in the last week, only rumours- Chico has shipped his car to Spain and emptied his flat,ML has got his pay off, estimated at 2mill,big hints of Ash going to Arsenal,he's closed his twitter account after threats from someone called Chopra, unknown if genuine.away season ticket scheme cancelled through lack of support,Ince says he'd be open to offer from Swans then gets on a plane to Milan for talks with Inter,Gower freed by Charlton,Jermaine Meade freed by Swans after arriving from Arsenal only last season.

Thanks for the updates, did get letter from the club regarding the cancellation of away season tickets for next season plus a nice rebate after we had overpaid in advance. Not really surprised after all the problems of last season though I do hope the club change their policy over selling the worst away seats first otherwise the majority will be holding back from purchasing until the last minute or may not bother going at all.

I am concerned over the possibility of Ashley Williams being lured away to the Emirates, I worry that losing him would be a major blow to the stability of the team and feel it is vitally important that we keep hold of him if at all possible. As for Chico I'm not quite so concerned if we can find a decent replacement but I do hope that Monk doesn't want to make too many changes in the summer.

Already we were thinking here that holding back before buying tickets for away matches was a good idea. I wish the club had the gumption to solve the problem instead of taking the easy option again, to the detriment of the away fans. Our fans representative on the board is merely a puppet,so I expect the usual silence from him.
I said six months ago that Williams was running down his contract, either to move on or hold the club to ransom for a big pay deal. You could see that his body language wasn't right in some matches and his form was erratic as a consequence.
Our leader had said previously that we would never get caught again by players purposely running down contracts, but here we are in the same situation where a key player has to be sold for relative peanuts or he can go for free next June.
Chico has emptied his flat and retreated to Spain, whether he returns is anybody's guess.

If the club want a large number of our fans to continue supporting the team at away matches (which in turn does help the team) then they must change their current policy. By only purchasing a block at a time for our away fixtures it means that the corners are usually sold first and this was very evident at Fulham where we were almost in the Thames we were that far away from the pitch while those that bought their tickets at the last minute were given the best view as blocks further towards the centre were then taken up by our ticket office. Smacks of trying to save a small amount of money whilst not considering our most loyal fans, something has to change as it is not fair. The ticket office told me that this was a directive from the premier league but I've personally spoken to other prem clubs ticket offices and they have said this is not true and is not the way they sell their away allocation.

Very revealing, and this has noticeably happened only this season. Are the club penny pinching by buying only small blocks of tickets as necessary. They are not listening to the loyal fans, without whom there would be no club. If Huw Cooze is aware of the problem why isn't he doing anything about it. The best seats should surely go to the regular JA away support, and now with the away season conveniently abolished, the away seating allocation will become a lottery. No such problems for away fans coming to our ground,as they have prime seats behind the goal, and roads are closed off to whisk them in and out with ease. For us,our fans are held back on the coaches at away matches until everybody has gone before being allowed to depart unescorted to join the back of the huge traffic queues.

Rumours that Fabianski of Arsenal is due to sign for us have resurfaced and if true leads to the question of who will he replace, Vorm or Tremmel. Are we seeing major changes coming to our team for next season as has been hinted by the chairman with the possible departure of our no 1 goalkeeper, several Spaniards and our captain or is it all just speculation. Must say I find it all very unsettling and will be glad when it's 31st August and we know exactly who we still have available to play for us.

Fabianski it is then,as revealed on the Official Site a few minutes ago, with a photo of him holding up a Swans scarf at the Liberty. At almost 6' 3" he will be an asset for the high balls, and is pretty good at saving penalties (two v Wigan,FA Cup semi final shoot out).
Where does this leave Vorm and Tremmel,as Fab would only leave Arsenal for guaranteed first team football. Also his wages at Arsenal were 2.08 mill pa in 2012,working out at 43k pw,no way can we pay that!
Looks as if Vorm will go to Liverpool, but would he be happy as second string? Self inflicted though, with his poor displays this season, capped in the last home game as he stood and watched, making no effort to stop Lambert score the winner in the last minute against Southampton.

Since making no attempt to stop the Lambert goal at the Liberty I think Garry was determined to get a new keeper after some ropey and uninspired displays from our No.1 and it was telling that Tremmel played in goal in our last league match at Sunderland. Expect Vorm to go to Liverpool for around £4mill, he needs a fresh challenge although as you say he may have to settle for a place on the bench at Anfield if indeed he does go there.

So what of Fabianski, he has the chance to really impress for us and to be fair looked good in the cup games for Arsenal. Their fans have mixed feelings about him, some saying he lacks confidence whilst others are sad to see him go, all we can hope is that he soon settles in with our backline which may or may not include our captain. I do hope Ash stays but sounds like he wants a move (well according to his agent who is putting about all sorts of stories) infact I wouldn't be surprised to hear of a few moving on from the Liberty in the weeks ahead.

Bafetimbi Gomis....
Press reports say we're after him again on a free, but he turned down 80k a week offer from Newcsatle.
Rodgers going for Lambert instead of Bony as too expensive,4 mill fee quoted for 32 yr old Lambert.
No plans for Vorm to leave,Monk says, and he wants our goalkeepers to fight it out for the No 1 spot. Neville Southall rates Vorm above Fab at this time, due to his PL experience and says Vorm is worth 10 mill.
Whatever happens with transfers in and out we do not want last minute departures when we have no replacements for them.
One that slipped the net,Jordi Gomez has been snapped up on a free by Sunderland.

Now that Poyet has signed extension to his contract can see him picking up some decent signings, Gomez for nothing was great deal for Black Cats.

I read of possible Vorm for Borini in swap deal with Liverpool, I'd be happy with that but not with Aspas as has been hinted by someone.

Aspas has done nothing at Liverpool, maybe worth a punt if he's cheap,we like players with something to prove. Borini would be even better in a straight swop for Vorm.
One paper saying that we're after Caulker,as Williams has turned down a new contract and Chico with his 17 suitcases has emptied his flat and shipped his car to Spain. Together with Southampton chasing Taylor, and Vorm's nose out of joint, it's not a very good situation for us in defence,if all is to be believed.

I can imagine our manager has plenty to sort out player wise before they all re-assemble at the beginning of July. With the same agent working for Taylor and Williams I would think that there will be several phone conversations going back and for regarding those two plus Johnny Williams who is also represented by this parasite.

If it were up to me there would be no agents in football, the players would be represented by one main non profit making organisation who would act in the best interest of the player for a nominal fee and all the income would then go directly to the players themselves. Can you imagine the money some of these agents are currently earning for themselves when working on behalf of a dozen or so players, there are clubs on their knees financially yet these agents continue to take millions out of the game totally for their own gain.

I interpret AW rejecting a new contract as a decision by him to move on,and not him stalling for a better deal. He's never turned down a new contract before, and maybe all the hype of big clubs interested in him has gone to his head. He will be a multi millionare by staying with us,so it's not all about money. He is not guaranteed a starting place if he goes to a big club,so he has everything to lose rather than everything to gain, but his agent will be touting him to line his pockets with more cash.,same with Taylor

Rumours that QPR now interested in Ash, maybe our captain feels he needs a new challenge yet he more than most knows that not many Swans players seem to prosper once they leave the Liberty. If he goes then we will need to move swiftly for a replacement, talk of the return of Caulker who I did like when he played for us. His move to Cardiff from parent club Spurs did him no good as he seemed to go backwards despite scoring against us in November, wouldn't be averse to him returning provided there is another experienced defender alongside him.

According to sky we are keen to sign a young FC Twente striker for £6.5 mill whose name is not easy to remember...looks good on youtube but even Vasquez did when I checked before he came to us.

I think we should do all we can to keep Williams, but it sounds as if he's being greedy. It's our own fault letting him run down his contract,we could have got big money for him beginning of last season, now a 4 mill fee for him is comparatively peanuts. It would be a shock move going to QPR,and it can only be for the money, and to play alongside his mate Ferdinand who may go there as well. What happened to the big buddy Monk/Williams alliance where he begged the club to appoint Monk full time, now suddenly he disappears at the first opportunity. He may regret leaving Swansea, especially when he's back playing in the Championship, and will have joined the many players that thought they were big time Charlie's,only to see their careers nosedive after departing. I would think very carefully about moving if I were him.
Not sure on Caulker,he looked very poor for Cardiff, and he's supposedly got personal problems that resulted in Spurs offloading him.
Luc Castaignos, fee has been agreed, sounds a good buy,if he can agree personal terms.Saw the youtube goals, could be a good back up for Bony.

Well since I have been away seems Swans and Ash have started talks on a new contract which can only be a good thing provided of course an amicable agreement is made. Hopefully we will still have our captain with us for the start of next season along with a few new signings which apparently are in the pipeline.

Best news this week was the one year extension for Leon Britton, everyone will be delighted that we have given him some reward for his outstanding performances last season and am confident he can continue to produce his best for a few years yet.

Just got back from Cyprus,a short week in the sun. Flew from Bristol, got lost on A38 coming home and ended up going through Bristol towards Bath on the A4,what poor signposting they have. My TomTom is useless,I got lost both ways the last time using it to travell to Bristol as well, there was a road closed for repair and it just couldn't redirect me,even taking me into a cul de sac! Landed at 1am and got home at 4am. Stuck in passport control for half an hour,3 flights landed at the same time, then waited ages for suitcases, then fighting to get on silver zone car park bus which was crammed with people and cases. Plane was full of Welsh travellers,no wonder Cardiff Airport passenger numbers are down. It's so much easier flying from Cardiff so I'm hoping the return of Ryanair there this winter, after many years absence, initially with flights to Tenerife, will eventually lead to many more cheap Ryanair flights being introduced.
I was surprised to read that Williams was the second biggest earner after Michu, and on about 40k a week, what happened to our wage restrictions? Is he worth breaking the bank for at 30 years of age, good a player as he is.His greedy agent will squeeze us for all we've got.
