Swansea City could make their first January signing soon after offering a contract to Real Betis defensive midfielder Jose Canas

I think it's about time we were looking to get someone as Leon's heir. Cover now but with a few years to learn from the master before taking over, not just coming in when the need arises with no time to learn.

Problem is, if Football Manager and Fifa are anything to go by, this guy isn't very good and neither is that Aspas. I hope they are wrong and missed something in them XD

This deal actually looks a bit strange. Besides him not having great reviews (and goal.com has him as a striker!), transfer market values him at 1.8 million. Why would we want to use January transfer money to bring in a player who purportedly wants to come to Laudrup anyway, who we don't really need now as Leon will be fine for another year or two, plays a position where we already have lots of back-up, and who is out of contract in June and would therefore be a free transfer in six months? If he's so keen on Laudrup as his manager why can't we wait until June and save the money or at least take him on loan until then?

Senhin are you really gunna go buy Fifa or FM to make judgement on players?

Fifa 13 has Ben Davies' photo on Gwion Edwards.

Its far from a definitive scouting resource.

Although it would be very funny to see all the premier league managers queing up from midnight the day before the newest release of Fifa or FM so they can quickly see who the new big players are and so they can quickly play out a season and see which of the young up and comers will become stars and which will drop off.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing. I play a lot of FIFA 13 and Lita is my top scorer ( on professional ). Does that make him a premiership player. LOL

Definitely need a defensive midfielder as cover for Leon as we have struggled lately every time he is subbed, Ki and Kemy not the answer. Think we've been tracking this guy for a while so could be the answer for when our little guy needs a break.

We have to trust the manager on this. HJ has said we are looking for quality players that are able to come straight into the team,so obviously Laudrup thinks highly of Canas.
