I see Liverpool have also started back early for pre-season training, hoping to steal a march on the other clubs. Meanwhile we jet off to Amsterdam this afternoon for our ten day tour with several new recruits, but the big ones up front still missing.
Gomis is outers at Lyon after stalling on coming to Swansea. They were in financial trouble and thought he was leaving after agreeing a fee,but they've had to sell their most promising young player instead,to balance the books. Gomis is now training with the youth team as punishment, and was not invited to the first team training camp. He's only got a year left on his contract so holds all the cards.

Will feel a lot happier once we have a star striker in tow to take the burden off Michu, as I said before don't want a player like Gomis who seems unwilling to even step into Wales...his loss not ours and we move on to other targets willing to come and experience our warm welcome.

So our players fly off for the early pre season tour with our new recruits not even having trained together but it is a good bonding exercise and I have no doubt that Monk and the other established players will make our new lads feel very much part of the squad.

Strange the way Gomis is acting, most players would jump at the chance to play in the PL,but he seems more concerned in fighting with his club,Lyon. How can he stay there now after alienating himself from them. Shame,as he looks such a good player.Bony now looks the more viable option,he wants to come, but Vitesse are holding out for more money. We are well covered in every position except strikers,it's a pity we couldn't have bought the both of them.

Heard that Vitesse have sold one of their best youngsters to Chelsea for a packet so maybe they won't be needing quite so much for Bony, our chairman will be awaiting news I'm sure but has a steady nerve and won't be bullied into paying over the odds. It is not as if we are coming up to the close of the transfer window but would be good to get a striker in sooner rather than later especially with European games coming up shorty.

Have to say we seem to have bought wisely so far, haven't seen the new Spanish lads play yet of course but they all come with good reputations. Will give Shelvey my support of course but would much have preferred another British player if we needed one to boost the numbers.

We are linked with ex-Birmingham City flop,27 year old Christian Benitez, now at Club America, and scored 30 goals for them last season
Nacer Chadli FC Twente's 23 year old winger, one year left on contract,is holding out for big club move with Liverpool said to be interested,HJ has given up on him.
Bony wants to come but his club Vitesse are stalling.
We have tabled an improved offer of 5 mill euros for 22 year old Mubarak Wakaso which is likely to be accepted by cash-strapped Espanyol, after they previously turned down 4 mill euros.
Half of that amount would be going to Villareal who have a 50% stake in the player.
Wakaso emerged one of the star performers for Ghana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations where he finished the competition as joint-top scorer

Looking at a couple of snippets of Wakaso on youtube he seems to play a roaming role for Espanyol popping up on both left and right wings, if he were to come would it be that we are willing to let Dyer go as he has just one year left on his contract. I do like Nathan but since Rodgers left he has not always looked the same player maybe because Laudrup plays a different formation which doesn't suit him as much, would like to see him stay especially as we know what he can do but will trust that the management knows what is best for us and him.

New training gear in the club shop tomorrow but still no home shirts, heard a rumour that there could be a further four to six week delay which would be totally unacceptable to our club and the fans.

I hope Dyer stays and is offered a new contract.Maybe the club are covering their backs in case he decides to leave, with the Wakaso bid,but ML did say he wanted two players for every position. I think he still has plenty to offer.
Christian Benitez, another of our striker targets, looks set to leave Mexican champions Club America to join Qatari side Al Sadd.

The leisure wear is on sale this weekend but the home shirts delay is not acceptable from such a renowned company as Adidas.

Yes I would prefer Nathan to stay as at times he can really be an asset to the team particularly at home, would be good if we could get Wakaso as well though as we'd then have our two players per position sorted on the wings.

First friendly game in Holland today, don't think we'll get a live stream anywhere but the Den Haag match next weekend is definitely being shown, I was there the last time and what a great atmosphere there was between the fans helped somewhat by the waft of wacky backy that permiated the air around the stadium....

I wonder if we can prise away Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn. We weren't in such a good financial position to buy him at 8 mill from Huddersfield last season, and I was amazed that Blackburn could stump up that sort of money after getting relegated. But 28 goals last season proved what a good investment he was,but it will take more than that to persuade Blackburn to let him go.Is he being considered as our second striker with Bony or Gomis,or instead of? Don't know the funds available, but HJ is certainly splashing the cash so far, contrary to ML's dastardly agent's accusations.

I certainly wouldn't mind Rhodes but Blackburn are not short of cash despite their owners being totally off the wall and may not want to take any offer for their top scorer. More rumours about Bony today but won't get my hopes up until I see it officially announced on the website.

A 5-1 win at Excelsior this afternoon was a good work out for the lads, seems we had numerous chances fielding two strong teams and Michu played the second half though he did not score any of the goals...

Saw a clip on the Official Site of the goals yesterday. Pretty amateurish filming but better than nothing, and a goal spree after going a goal down. Hard to make out the players with all the new faces, but they seem to be bonding well with all the hugging and high fives.
HJ has been quoted as saying he's hoping to wrap up the Bony deal within 24 hours,so Vitesse must have been in touch with him,we'll find out for sure today.
Graham moves further down the pecking order at Sunderland as Di Canio signs the second top scorer last season in Eredivisie-Holland,AZ Alkmaar's Jozy Altidore, with 31 goals last season.
