Bauza Shortlisted For Monthly Award

Bauza Shortlisted For Monthly Award

Swansea City Striker Guillem Bauza is one of four nominees for the League One player of the month award for January.

The Spanish forward joins Edrissa Sonko of Walsall; striker Steven Gillespie of Cheltenham; and defender Danny Coles of Bristol Rovers on the list of nominees.

Fellow striker Jason Scotland picked up the award for December.

Bauza has improved every week since he has been here and produced a superb performance on Saturday, coming off the bench to help us beat Oldham 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

He was involved in both our goals, the first slotting a superb through ball to Scotland, who's cross was netted by Oldham's McDonald. The second, he beat a man in the box, his cross deflected back to Brandy who netted from 12 yards.

The winner of the award will be announced on Sky Sports 1's Big League Weekend show at around 7:45pm.

His hard work at the start of the season is starting to pay off! Now he is getting games and goals and seems to be enjoying his football!

The influence he had on the rest of the team against Oldham showed that it will be well deserved if he wins the award.
