No sooner as Fabien Brandy had met his new team mates in training for the first time this afternoon his attentions were firmly fixed on aiding Swansea City's push for promotion.
Brandy completed his loan move from Manchester Untied this afternoon and took part in his first training session at the club's Landarcy Park training complex. The 18 year old striker has not made a first team appearance for the Old Trafford side ; he has however made an impact in their youth set up as part of the Champions Youth Cup which he was highly influential figure.
Quick to give his player the chance to progress and learn under the guidance of Roberto Martinez , Sir Alex Ferguson had told the highly rated youngster that the move to South Wales would be highly beneficial for his development.
That advice has not gone unheeded by Brandy who has commented that gaining first team experience at his age is vital.
His new manager Martienz has praised his new acquisition following his loan move and revealed that he has been hot on the heals to sign the player for some time.
Training alongside the likes of Christiano Ronaldo , Owen Hargreaves and Wayne Rooney on a regular basis will help the striker to hit the ground running despite his tender age.
He spoke on the Official Site
| 'The Gaffer (Sir Alex Ferguson) spoke to me about going on loan to Swansea and said it would be good move to gain experience and for my development" 'I'm looking forward to the challenge. My target is to get into the first team and show what I can do; score a few goals and help Swansea gain promotion. If I can do well for Swansea then perhaps the boss (Sir Alex) will give me a chance when I go back to United. At my age it's important for me to start getting a few first team games under my belt.I've been with the club since I was nine. It's a great club to be with and to train alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo is unbelievable." They are world class players and everything they do rubs off on you, which also gives your morale a boost.Swansea seems a nice place and it was good to meet the squad this morning. Now I'm fit, ready and raring to go.'' |
| ''He is highly regarded at Old Trafford and we are grateful to Sir Alex for allowing him to join us..Sir Alex is a very impressive man and his footballing knowledge is second to none. When I spoke to him he was well aware of what we are trying to do here and it is a great compliment to Swansea City that we can attract players from the likes of Manchester United. " Febian is a very exciting talent who we have been chasing for quite some time. He has great pace, skill and holds the ball up really well for his size. He also has a fantastic goalscoring record for United's Youth and Reserve team and has huge desire to succeed and play first team football. He will fill the gap left by Warren Feeney and is ready to join the squad straight away.'' |
